Constance Kemp Madden, age 91, passed away peacefully at home on September 24th, 2023, with her loving family by her side.
Born on July 12, 1932, in Plattsburgh N.Y., to Maria Genet Kemp and Howard David Kemp, she was the oldest of six children.
Connie graduated from St. John's Academy in 1950, attended the College of Mount St. Vincent in New York City for two years and transferred to the University of Vermont where she graduated in 1954 with a degree in Math and Physics. She attended the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1955 to obtain her teacher training. She taught 3rd grade at the H.O. Wheeler Elementary School in Burlington, VT for one year and was a substitute teacher at Peru Central Elementary School in 1961-1962.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 69 years, Frank Madden, her siblings, Christine Brown (Keith), James Kemp (Patti) and Howard Kemp, her children, Marguerite Madden, Lori Deyoe (Bryan), Michael Madden (Judy), Ellie Madden and Joseph Madden (Sandra), grand children Kemp Remillard, Ayn Allen (Brad), Paul Deyoe, Mark Deyoe, Ethan Madden, Marie Bouffard, Thomas Bouffard, Nicholas Bouffard and Connor Madden, and one great-grandchild, Caleb Deyoe, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Maria and Howard Kemp, and brothers Frank Kemp and Charles Kemp.
Per her request there will be no calling hours. A mass in her honor will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church in Au Sable Forks, N.Y. on Saturday, October 7 at 10:00 am, followed by her burial at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie's remembrance to the CVPH FitzPatrick Cancer Center, Plattsburgh, N.Y.
