It is with profound sadness that the family of David "Dave" R. Feitshans, announce his peaceful passing on August 18, 2023, at the age of 80 years.
Dave was born in Batavia, New York on February 16, 1945 to Robert and Mabel (Reigel) Feitshans. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and then built a career as a Master Electrician.
As the proud owner of Oak Ridge Electric, Dave was admired for his work ethic and craftsmanship. Beyond his profession as a skilled tradesman, Dave found joy in the simple but meaningful things in life. He loved spending time in the Adirondacks, where nature gave him peace. A devoted dog lover, he always had a canine companion by his side. His passion for classic cars and antiques was well known.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mable Feitshans. He is survived by his brother, Douglas (Vicky) Feitshans of Kingman, Arizona, his children Michelle, John (Mari), and James; grandchildren Monica Smith (Feitshans), Jordan Ashe, and Erik Feitshans; and four great-grandchildren.
Dave's life was one of hard work, love for family, and respect for tradition. He will be remembered fondly for his wisdom, sense of humor and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Museum on Blue Mountain Lake, or a local dog rescue in Dave's memory, honoring his lifelong love of nature and animals.
Services were entrusted to Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, Au Sable Forks, NY.
