Our beloved Elmyra Violia Crowningshield, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2023, in Au Sable Forks, New York. Elmyra was born on May 31, 1948, in Plattsburgh, New York, and was the daughter of Philip "Felix" Martin and Nina Joy.

Elmyra led a fulfilling life centered around her family, her work and her grandpup Teddy. After earning her high school diploma, she began her career as a housekeeper, dedicating over four decades of her life to the Hungry Trout Resort in Wilmington, New York. Her unwavering commitment and strong work ethic made her an invaluable member of the team until her well-earned retirement in 2022.

Elmyra's nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Pamela Crowningshield of Au Sable Forks, Lisa (Phillip Jr.) Martin of Au Sable Forks, and Denise (Charles) Holtsclaw of Texas. Her love and guidance provided a solid foundation for her children, fostering their growth and well-being throughout their lives.

Elmyra's love for her family knew no bounds. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, Thomas (Kayla) Holtsclaw of West Chazy, Alexander (Jasmine) Holtsclaw of Plattsburgh, Zachary Holtsclaw of Vermont, and Alisha Holtsclaw of Texas, as well as her numerous great-grandchildren. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories that will be treasured by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Celia Coolidge, her husband Stanley Crowningshield, her brother-in-law Albert Crowningshield, and several other relatives. Their love and support formed the foundation of her life and will continue to be a source of strength as they navigate through this difficult time.
