Grace Hoye

Grace Hoye, age 75, of Brownstown, MI passed away on September 25, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of Paul Hoye, loving mother of Scott (Pam) Hoye and Tonya (Jeff) Szafranski. She was the dearest grandmother of Chloe, Clarissa, Connor, Chase, Nolin, and Ty and the dear sister of Beth Coolidge, Jeanne (John) Matyas, and late PK (Val) Coolidge. She was also the dear sister-in-law to Brian (LuAnn) Hoye, Joanne Jones, Alan (Donna) Hoye, Patti (Dave) Janette, and David (Lisa) Hoye and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin Paul and Evelyn Lucille Coolidge.

Grace was from a beautiful small town in upstate New York. She met Paul while he was stationed in New York with the Air Force. When his service ended, they married and moved to Michigan for Paul to resume his job with Ford Motor Company. Grace was a stay-at-home mom at first, then worked for Brownstown Township as a billing clerk. Her true joy began with grandkids and continued with winters in Florida after retirement. She made the best spaghetti, salad, brownies, and O'Henry Bars. She loved playing cards with friends, board games with the grandkids, the Balloon Fest in Battle Creek, and spending time with family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks, NY. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Au Sable Forks immediately after the service.
