Janice (Moquin) McDonald, born June 10, 1935, attended the Catholic school in Au Sable Forks through the eighth grade, graduating in 1953 from the Au Sable Forks High School.
She worked at Santa's Workshop and Bausch and Lomb Optical Company in Rochester, N.Y. In 1955 married Vernon McDonald and raised six sons, Larry (Sue), Brian (Judy), John (Jessica), Jay (Kelly), Dave (Shari), and Tom (Missy). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Dan Katherine (Cody), Michael (Renee), Emily (Nathan), Nick, Dalton (Isabelle), Troy (Katherine), and Harold (Kristy); four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Kylie, Conner, and Haley; and sister-in-law Chris Moquin.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon McDonald; her parents, Archie & Evelyna Moquin; a daughter, Mary Janice who died at birth, and her brother Alan Moquin.
She was a member of the 504 American Legion Auxiliary in Au Sable Forks, a member of the Elks Club in Keeseville as widow of Vernon. In her lifetime she enjoyed western square dancing, decorating cakes for her family, line dancing, shuffleboard, collecting dolls, Elvis, Civil War and ancient Egypt memorabilia, traveling especially to Israel, Las Vegas and going to Elvis places.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, March, 9, 2023 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name Church in Au Sable Forks.
