Joanne Hilt

Joanne Patricia Hilt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born on July 9, 1945, in Hoboken, NJ. Joanne was one of a kind, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and countless memories.

She had a passion for the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid bowler, known for her signature bunny hop approach that always brought a smile to those around her. Beyond the bowling alley, she was a gifted knitter and crocheter, creating beautiful blankets, sweaters, and toboggan hats which she generously shared as heartfelt gifts. Her chocolate fudge was a seasonal delight, lovingly gifted to friends and family during the holidays.

Joanne's warmth and kindness extended far beyond her hobbies. She was a pillar of love and support to her family, cherishing her role as a wife to Gene Hilt since their marriage in August 1968 in East Rutherford, NJ. They shared many years of love and laughter together, settling in Jay, NY, in the mid-1970s. Joanne's love and devotion were also evident in her relationship with her son, Jeff (Renee) of Huntsville, AL, as well as her daughter, Patricia Lawrence, of Wilmington, NY.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Euphemia Clark; and her brothers, Tommy, Jimmy, and Bob. While Joanne's departure leaves a void in the lives of many, her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gene, her son Jeff and daughter-in-law Renee, her daughter Patricia, as well as her adored grandchildren, Maya (and Travis Tommich), Caden, Brette, and William, and great-granddaughters, Maddison and Emmersyn.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
