Obituary

John (Jack) Beeman, 83, originally of Moriah, NY, passed away surrounded by family on May 15, 2026. He was born on February 5, 1943, in Port Henry, NY, to Genevieve Blaise and Rolland Beeman.

While Jack's careers spanned over different areas, the ones that he spoke most about was his time spent serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and his work at Frontier Town and Moriah Central School.

Though the role that he was most proud of and the one he felt was the most important for any of us; was that of a parent and grandparent.

"He taught us many things. First and foremost; to always be there for each other. That a little bit of kindness goes a long way and that compassion for others can change lives. Including your own. That some of our best lessons are learned by our worst mistakes and that there is nothing more important in the world than our children."

Jack was widely known as Pop. Whether he was being called that by his grandkids or their friends at school, or the nurse that cared for him; he was always Pop.

If you had the pleasure of knowing him; his sense of humor would be one of the first things that come to mind. He kept that humor throughout his long courageous battle with Parkinson's.

Jack leaves behind his children: Wendy (John) Tibbitts, John (Jenn) Beeman and Todd Beeman; his grandchildren: Adam Beeman (Deanna), Shannon Beeman (Mike), Calsie (Paul) Elethorp, Dustin Plumadore (Mackenzie) and Kyle Beeman; his great-grandchildren: Michael, Millee, Treyce, Mia and Bodhi; his bonus grandchildren: Camden and Corbin; and his bonus great-grandchild: Thomas. He also leaves behind many family members but none more dear to him than his Aunt Joan, and his life-long friends; Doug, Joann & Ruthie. Left to cherish his memory is also his good friend and caregiver, Donna.

Jack's beloved cat named Lady, who had predeceased him, will be laid to rest along with him.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jack's memory to the North Country SPCA or High Peaks Hospice.

Services were entrusted to Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, PO Box 127, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks, NY 12912.
