June Nelson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 7, 2026 at home. Born on January 10, 1937, in Port Douglas, Keeseville, NY, June was the cherished daughter of Amos and Catherine Tellier. As a young child, she moved to Ballston Spa, where she would begin a lifetime of meaningful connections and lasting memories.
In September 1955, June married the love of her life, Roger Nelson. Their enduring partnership was a testament to devotion, unity, and unconditional support, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.
She spent many years as a seamstress in Ballston Spa, skillfully crafting garments with care. Later, she moved to Au Sable Forks and began a new chapter as a waitress, where her warm personality and kindness touched countless lives. June's entrepreneurial spirit shone as the co-owner of the Corner Café, where her welcoming nature was felt by every patron. She also worked as a cashier, always greeting customers with a friendly smile. Yet, her greatest and most important role was as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother-roles she fulfilled with boundless love and selflessness.
A devout Catholic, June's faith guided her throughout her life, providing her with strength, comfort, and purpose. She was an active member of her church and found solace in praying the rosary daily and whenever anyone was sick or needed some extra prayers.
June's passions brought color and joy to her days. She enjoyed walking, dancing, gardening, reading, painting, and playing the organ.
She is preceded in death by her parents Amos and Catherine Tellier; her sister Teresa (Harry) Baker, Gertrude (Fred) Johnpeer; her brothers Lester (Helen) Tellier, Clayton (Marge) Tellier; and her grandson Max Thwaits, III.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Roger Nelson; her son Timmy (Lori) Nelson, her daughters Beth (Max) Thwaits, Melissa (Craig) Walton; grandchildren Tyler Nelson (Megan), Cara Nelson (Marcus), Mike Thwaits, Travis Thwaits (Khalshia), Samantha (Travis) Bombard, Crystal Pray (John); her great-grandchildren Raegan and Ryleigh Schier, Camryn Nelson, Jayden Thwaits, Julius Pray, and Aubrey Bombard; as well as many nieces and nephews.
