Laura Denton-Lawrence, born on October 16, 1967, to James Denton and Mary Ann Rondeau, passed away at home with her family by her side on February 6, 2026, at the age of 58. Laura grew up in Black Brook and has lived in Wilmington since 1992.

A passionate educator, Laura dedicated over 30 years of her career as a Special Education teacher at CVES. She brought joy, patience, and creativity into her classroom every day.

Laura found true happiness in nature, often spending her favorite moments camping at Union Falls. Those who knew her recall her stories of peaceful mornings by the water, campfire laughter, and a sense of adventure that she passed on to her family and friends.

Her love for the older population in the community was evident in the time and care she gave, always eager to lend a helping hand, share a kind word, or simply sit and listen. Laura had an uncommon gift for making everyone feel valued and heard.

Above all, Laura cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Darren; sons Cody Lawrence and Riley Lawrence (Kaili Bourdeau); her mother Mary Ann Denton; her beloved sister, Jodi Denton; two compassionate caregivers, Sadie Hozley and her mother-in-law, Charlotte Lawrence. Laura was preceded in death by her father, James "Jimbo" Denton, and her father-in-law, Francis Lawrence.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 at Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home.
