Mary Therese Francis died on August 14, 2026. Mary was the daughter of the late Donald L. and Vera Savage of Au Sable Forks, NY. Born on February 15, 1943, Mary lived a life grounded in devotion to caring for others as a nurse, and caretaker.

Mary graduated from Champlain Valley School of Nursing in 1965. In July of 1965 she married the love of her life Michael Francis. They moved to Poughkeepsie, NY where they lived for over 25 years. They shared many happy years living in the Hudson River Valley and traveling around the country. Mary was an accomplished head nurse at the Veteran's hospital in Wappinger Falls, NY. Later, Mary continued her nursing career at CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY.

Mary is predeceased by her husband Michael, her parents Vera and Donald L., and her brother Donald H. She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Donald C., Neil, Dawn, and Kathryn, along with 5 grandnephews and nieces (Peter, John, Hannah, Charlotte, William), and 1 great-grandniece (Celine).

Mary was a talented crafter. She was artful at knitting and crocheting blankets and sweaters with her own designs, making cherished gifts for family and friends. She loved going on boat rides with her family and friends. She enjoyed dining out and listening to country and oldies music. She loved playing cards and dominoes and had a great sense of humor. Mary loved her cherished cats Shadow and Cinder that brought her joy and comfort. She was a loyal friend and neighbor and helped others even when her own health was failing. She will be forever missed and always loved in our hearts.
