Mildred Gravelle

February 25, 1942 — November 21, 2024

It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of our cherished mother, aunt, friend and "Gram", Mildred Gravelle. Millie was born in Keene, NY on February 25, 1942 the daughter of Joseph LaRose and Mildred (Tyron) LaRose.

She attended Keene High School and on June 4, 1960 married George Gravelle, who predeceased her on March 6, 2016. Millie and George had six amazing children, Joseph, Aaron, Aileen, Keith, Christopher, and Tammy. Millie was fortunate to be able spend summers in Au Sable Forks with her daughter and son-in-law, Aileen and Tracy Hart and winters in Fort Worth, Texas with her son and daughter-in-law Chris and Elizabeth Gravelle.

In addition to her children, Joseph and wife Sharon Freeman-Gravelle of Gloversville, NY, Aaron and wife Toni Gravelle of Commerce, GA, Aileen and husband Tracy Hart of Au Sable Forks, NY, Keith Gravelle of Zebulon, GA, Christopher and wife Elizabeth of Fort Worth, TX, Tammy and husband Christopher Glaze of Fort Mill, SC, Millie is also survived by countless grandchildren and great grandchildren who called her Gram. Gram also leaves behind many welcomed into her family with love and had the honor to call her "Gram" too. She is also survived by her brother Louis LaRose of Westport, NY.

She truly enjoyed her time with Kelly C. Murphy as they traveled to appointments and their KFC lunches. Her "adopted" daughter, Tina Demers always willing to lend a helping hand, held a special place in Gram's heart. Our family extends a heartfelt thank you to Maggie Blake for her help during the final weeks of Gram's life.

Millie enjoyed knitting and crocheting and always had a project underway - now each a precious reminder of her craftsmanship and big heart. She enjoyed her trips traveling the country with her Aunt Illeanna. She was a huge fan of ice cream, all dogs and Elvis but her greatest joy came from time spent surrounded by those she loved and who loved her. We will all miss you.

Visitation to honor Millie's life will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks.
