Nancy Ann Carte, 84 passed away at the Laurels Assisted Living Facility in Charlotte NC, on May 11, 2022.
Nancy was born September 24, 1937 in Worcester, MA to David and Constance Coughlin (Hall). She was raised in Upper Jay, NY by parents, Helen and David Coughlin. Nancy later moved to Schenectady NY, where she and her husband, Donald, resided until they retired and relocated to Charlotte, NC. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Constance Coughlin (Hall), parents David & Helen Coughlin, and her husband of 60 years, Donald.
Nancy retired from Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, after more than 20 years of service. In Charlotte, Nancy worked over a decade at JC Penney and Our Lady of Assumption Catholic School. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister, active in many church groups and volunteer efforts, and a friend to everyone she met.
Nancy is survived by four of her sons: Greg (Lynn) of Florida, James (Louise), Donald (Donna) and Robert (Debbie), of Gansevoort, NY, daughter-in-law, Lynn Ralph, and former daughter-in-law, Margo Mahoski (Walt). She is also survived by a brother Douglas Coughlin (Barbara) of Glens Falls, NY, and brother-in-law, Bob Plumadore. Nancy's immediate family extends into West Virginia and beyond as a beloved, six-decade member of the Huffman family, who include sisters, brothers-in-law and their children and grandchildren.
Nancy was predeceased by her son Michael, brothers Thomas and David, sisters Alice and Betty, and granddaughter Amanda. She was a cherished and beloved grandmother to Michelle, Lindsey (Alvaro), Andrea (Chris), Abbye (Sam), Aimee, Bobby, Allison, Ryan, Samantha, Jacob, April, Justin, Caragh, and five great-grandchildren. Nancy was also loved by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Name Cemetery in Au Sable Forks.

The family wishes to thank the staff of The Laurels, Assisted Living Facility and the special caregivers from Hospice & Palliative Care, for their loving care and support.
