Neil Ford

On February 19, 2023 Neil Patrick Ford passed away unexpectedly at CVPH with family by his side, at the age of 74. Neil was born on January 22, 1949 to Clifford Ford and Edith (Arnold) Ford in Plattsburgh, NY and he grew up in Clintonville, NY. He graduated from Keeseville High School in 1968 and from there he attended Canton College where he graduated with several associates degrees.

On July 24,1972 he married his wife Sheila J. (Hart) Ford. They had two children, Tara L. Ford in 1972 and Neil Ford II in 1973. Neil worked for the Village of Keeseville water/sewer treatment plant. He then went to work for Jim Smith logging and then went to work for the Town of Chesterfield plowing, all the while working at home on his farm "Ford Farms". He eventually began working for Eric Johanson (Johanson Dielectric Inc.) as the care taker of the Baldface Mountain Preserve for some 40 years. Neil loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, and four wheeling. Was long time member of a hunting club with his long time friends Bob and Barbara Fields, their son Robbie, and many more good friends. Neil loved spending time with family and friends and he was always busy tinkering with something or another. His kind heart and joking, fun loving personality will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Neil is survived by his wife of 50 years Sheila; his daughter Tara L. Ford- Colgrove and her wife Leslie Colgrove; his son Neil Ford II and his wife Melanie Ford; his siblings sister Joanne Riani, brother Paul Ford, brother and sister-in-law Claude and Judy Ford, and brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Vickie Hart. His cousin who was more like a brother, Donald Ford and his wife Brigitte; his sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Brent Coryer of Rochester NY, sister and brother-in-Sherry and Danny White, sister and brother-in-law Michelle and Edward Gareau of Syracuse NY, sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Gerry Raymond, brother and sister-in-law Dale and Pamela Hart, brother and sister-in-law Timothy and Judy Hart, and sister-in-law Cindy Hart. He was a loving grandfather to five grandchildren: Austin Mclaughlin and his wife Nicole, Rebecca Whritenour and her husband Zach, Schylar Keeney, Kyler Agoney and his wife Geshica and Conner Agoney and his girlfriend Dani Chamberlain, two great-grandchildren and soon to be three .Many nieces and nephews who all lovingly called him "Uncle Fuzzy" .

Neil was predeceased by his father Clifford and his mother Edith Ford. Brother-in-law Robert Riani, sister-in-law Judy Ford and brothers-in-law Ralph Hart, Gerald Hart, Eric Hart, and Wilcot Hart.

There will be no calling hours per his request.

He will be cremated and brought back to the mountain he loved so much at a later time.

In lieu of flowers or donations family ask for donations be made to the American Cancer Association.

Arrangements were entrusted to Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, Au Sable Forks.
