Robert Cioffi, 68, of Jay, passed away on September 2, 2026.

Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 11, 1957, the son of the late Biagio Cioffi and Madeline Gulino.

Over the course of his life, he worked for the United States Postal Service from 1980 to 1993 and spent 19 years with the American Management Association. For 13 years, he volunteered with the Islip Fire Department, and he took particular pride in serving as Captain of Hook and Ladder.

Sports were a big part of who Robert was. He loved playing hockey in his younger years and stayed active on the softball field until he was 60. He followed the Jets, the Mets, and the Rangers faithfully throughout his life. Traveling was another of his joys, and he made the most of vacations to all sorts of places over the years.

What mattered most to Robert was his family. He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren with his whole heart, and he had a soft spot for all the pets who were part of his life along the way.

Robert is survived by his wife, Patrice; his son, Robert (Valerie) Cioffi; his daughter, Danielle (Ruben) LaFontaine; and his grandchildren, Christopher Cioffi, Chloe Cioffi, Ellyana LaFontaine, and Jaxson LaFontaine; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Fran Caserta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Name Church in Au Sable Forks. Burial will follow at Haselton Cemetery in Wilmington.
