A life left us too soon and our world will be less a beautiful soul. We are horribly saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Robert J. Cross in Plattsburgh, New York on August 14, 2025. Born February 5, 1968 in Ilion, NY, he was the loving son of the late James F. Cross and A. Joyce (Mraz) Cross. He attended AuSable Valley High School and upon graduation went to colleges in Maine. He later enlisted in the Army and was stationed in South Korea as an airborne medic. Upon returning, he was an EMT in California. He then attended the University of Maryland becoming a Physician Assistant. He worked in several locations including New Mexico, California, Glens Falls and Plattsburgh, where he currently worked in the cardiology department at CVPH helping many people. He took special interest in his patients and their wellness. He was extremely attentive and thorough with his care. In addition to the medical field, he loved the outdoors ever since he was young. He enjoyed hiking, running and exploring new places. He had an appreciation for other cultures and new experiences, traveling to national parks, Alaska, Columbia, France, and India. Above all, he thought the most beautiful place was the Adirondacks where he grew up. He enjoyed nature with some favorite places being Whiteface Mountain, The Flume Trail System, and Point Au Roche. Robert had a thirst for knowledge, always reading, taking courses and learning new things.
In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by his caring and loving siblings, John M. Cross (Tonwya Lafave), Maryann (Cross) Parker (the late Thomas E. Parker) and Patricia (Cross) Lanoue (Mario) and his nieces and nephew, Rachelle (Cross) Chainani (Amit), Jennifer Cross, Rachel Parker, Charles Parker (Leticia Moreno) and grand nieces and nephews, Aria Chainani, Luca Parker and Isabella Parker.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, touched or spoken - They must be felt with the heart. The family is grateful for all those who have assisted during this time.
