Thomas Edward Sothard, 74, of Au Sable Forks, New York, passed away on October 10, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born on January 12, 1950, in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Tom, known to many as a dedicated and hardworking individual, spent over 20 fulfilling years as a truck driver for the Town of Black Brook DPW.
Outside of his career, Tom had a passion for fishing. When he wasn't out in nature, he could be found at the American Legion, engaging in friendly games of horseshoes and shuffleboard. Tom also had a soft spot for western movies, often spending evenings immersing himself in the tales of cowboys and outlaws.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 30 years, Ann Sothard; and his brothers Carl Sothard and Jerry Hosier.
He leaves behind his children Melanie (Ruben) LaFontaine and Sean (Danielle) Sothard; his grandchildren Nate Reynolds, Tori Reynolds, and Brinley Sothard; and a great-grandchild Beau Henault; his siblings Gweneth Lueck, Sue Hall, and Fred Sothard.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Tom's life will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Au Sable Forks on October 22, 2024, at 11:00 am.
Services were entrusted to Heidrick-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, PO Box 127, 3 College St., Au Sable Forks, NY 12912.
