Tracy Lawrence

June 26, 1965 — February 27, 2023

Tracy Lawrence, 57, of Wilmington, NY, passed away on the evening of February 27th. He was predeceased by his father, Allan Lawrence; paternal grandmother, Bea Lawrence; and maternal grandmother, Ellen Paret.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lawrence; two daughters, Brette Lawrence and Maya Hilt; and his two granddaughters, Maddison Tomich and Emmersyn Tomich.

He graduated from Au Sable Valley Central School in 1983. After graduation he began his career in carpentry. He was an extremely skilled finish carpenter, and even donated a custom doghouse to the ASPCA that looked more like a piece of art than a home for a dog.

Tracy, being a true mountain man, loved to hunt and fish. His freezer was always stocked with venison and trout that he was more than happy to share with anyone who walked through the door. He had a love for guns, which eventually evolved to a love for cannons. You could often hear him firing his tiny cannons, or even see him firing them at community events. In addition to firing his cannon, Tracy loved music. Proficient at the harmonica and air piano, anytime the weather was nice, he would be outside with his music up high, singing along and loving life.

Although Tracy looked like a grizzly bear on the outside, he was the sweetest, gentlest man. His granddaughters were his world, and he would show them off to anyone that would listen to him gush about them. He loved his family fiercely, and when he found out about his older sister, Laura, he welcomed her into his life with open arms. Although they were never able to meet in person, they talked on the phone regularly.

Tracy was a kind, forgiving man, who was always willing to help anyone. If he loved you, then he loved you hard and unwaveringly. His departure has deeply impacted all who loved him.

As per Tracy's wishes, services will be held at the Haselton Cemetery in Wilmington on March 15th, 2023 at 3:00 pm, followed by a potluck reception at Rudy's Scar Bar & Grill on Springfield Road.
